What is a punch list?

A punch list is the run of small items left at the end of a job — the touch-up paint in the hallway, the door that sticks, the missing outlet cover. You walk the job with the customer near the end, write down everything that still needs doing, and work the list until it's clear.

Contractors have always kept this on a punch list template or a legal pad. This app is that list, built for your phone. Tag each item by room and trade, check them off as they're finished, and watch the progress bar close out. When the last item's done, you and the customer both sign right on the screen and it turns into a signed completion PDF — clean proof the work was finished and accepted.

You can also export the whole list to Excel or Google Sheets. Free, works with zero signal, and everything stays on your own device.

FAQ · How-To

01 What's the difference between "COMPLETE" and "ITEMS OPEN" on the PDF?

The PDF header tells the truth about the list: if every item is checked off it reads PUNCH LIST — COMPLETE; if anything's still open it reads ITEMS OPEN, and the sign-off note says the signatures acknowledge the list as walked. Nobody's surprised later.

02 Who signs, and when?

Both of you — contractor and client, right on the screen with a finger. Best time is at the walkthrough: you both saw the same list, you both signed it, and the PDF is the record. You can sign with items still open (the PDF will say so) and generate a fresh COMPLETE copy after close-out.

03 What are the trade tags for?

Tag each item with the trade responsible (paint, electrical, plumbing…) and the PDF groups it all cleanly — so each sub can see their own items at a glance instead of hunting through the whole list.

04 Can I use this on my computer?

Yes — open the same address in your computer's browser. In Chrome or Edge, the install icon at the right end of the address bar puts it on your desktop like a regular app. You can also tap 📊 Export spreadsheet below to get the whole list as a file that opens in Excel or Google Sheets — handy for sending a sub just their items. Data stays per-device; use ⬇ Backup / ⬆ Restore below to move a job between phone and computer.

05 Does it work offline?

Yes. After the first visit it works with zero signal — the walkthrough usually happens in a house with no wifi anyway. Everything runs and saves on your device.

06 Where is my data? What if I switch phones?

Everything lives on this device — no account, no cloud, nothing sent anywhere. Before switching devices, tap ⬇ Backup to save a file, then ⬆ Restore it on the new one.

Help & Backup

How it works: walk the job with the client, add each area, punch in the items as you spot them, and tag the trade responsible. Check items off as they close. When it's all done, both of you sign and the PDF is your completion record — nobody's arguing later about what was on the list.

Your data stays on your phone. No account, no cloud. Use Backup before switching phones.
